Along the river Zaan, just north of Amsterdam, you can find the finest Dutch B&Bs. 't Zaans Koopmanshuis won the title 'Best B&B in The Netherlands' and also newcomer Heerlijck Slaapen was awarded.
Since most of them are located in historic Dutch buildings they are quite popular among tourists. Clearly those who want to wake up to a magnificent and peaceful view over the Dutch landscape, just on the outskirts of Amsterdam.
New initiatives are stimulated like plans for a B&B in windmill Het Klaverblad at the famous Zaanse Schans, and a unique B&B on the 1923 houseboat Alexander.
